CLIVE BARKER PRIVATE COLLECTION – 29 works available
The artwork presented in this exhibition is from a private collection, and is an exciting opportunity to own work by the artist, author and director, Clive Barker. Much of the work forms the inspiration for paintings that later evolved, while other pieces are illustrations for his fantasy novels Abarat and Weaveworld.
Clive’s free flowing style captures the movement and shapes of his beings and scenes. All of his creatures have characters and stories behind them. The collector was able to watch him at work in his studio in Hollywood, and see these come alive as they were committed to paper.
Clive lives in Los Angeles now but originally came from Liverpool, England. He works as a contemporary myth-maker and his paintings and drawings are one element of his expression. The others include film direction, novels, short stories, graphic novels and comics, games and theatre.
